Auto Dealerships

Auto dealerships offer a great opportunity to demonstrate quality and branding with bold commercial flooring installations. While there are many material options to choose from, auto dealerships face the challenge of selecting commercial-grade flooring materials that can handle heavy traffic and movement of vehicles and service bays, where chemicals and oils are an ongoing challenge. At Blair Duron, we suggest the following commercial epoxy and industrial concrete options for the automotive industry:

  • Metallic epoxy coatings
  • Seamless self-leveling epoxy coatings
  • Polished concrete overlays

Metallic epoxy finishes

These are a blend of solid epoxy with added glitter particles. There is no limitation to color options with this resinous flooring choice and when blended properly, it gives off a three-dimensional, eye-pleasing effect. The advantages of metallic epoxy are:

  • Applicable on floors with unconventional configurations
  • Easy to clean
  • Prevents bacterial challenges
  • Extremely durable and slip resistant
  • Minor surface damages and abrasions are easily repairable

Self-leveling epoxy

This generally applies to concrete and, with a properly trained technician, it quickly produces a seamless surface. Where other epoxy choices set with rollers, self-leveling provides a unique formula that is truly an even surface. The benefits of this product include:

  • Resistance to harsh chemicals
  • Resistance to UV light exposure
  • Extremely strong due to its hardening process
  • Easy to clean
  • Slip-resistant
  • Wide color choices

Polished concrete overlays

These are also a great solution on damaged or problematic floors. This commercial flooring solution will produce a smooth and seamless surface and can also deliver a terrazzo-like finish at half the price. Overlays also offer a wide choice for thickness. We can apply them as a very thin coat or up to ¾”. Additionally, polished concrete overlays offer higher light reflection than other options, which decreases the need for artificial light, thus contributing to LEED points.

In addition to auto dealers, these three solutions are also good industrial flooring choices for:

  • Mechanical workshops
  • Engine repair facilities
  • Parking garages
  • Airplane hangars
