Data Centers
While there are many options for industrial and commercial flooring solutions, when it comes to server rooms and data centers, there is generally a need to select a finish that provides effective antistatic properties. At Blair Duron, we provide electrostatic dissipative (ESD) flooring solutions.
Concrete (polished, sealed, and stained) is a great choice because it is inexpensive, rugged, easy to maintain, and dissipates heat, which is always a challenge in data centers.
Conductive rubber is another great choice. While the cost is higher than concrete, it has the additional advantage of eliminating ESD caused by clothing and footwear.
Epoxy is, in our opinion, the best solution. A solvent-free epoxy is extremely durable and can stand up to heavy traffic and equipment. It will withstand chemical spills and it does not absorb or trap heat, which helps with the cooling challenges server rooms must deal with. Additional epoxy advantages include:
- Seamless surface
- Easy to maintain
- Superior static control
- Withstands damage from drops and heavy server racks
- Slip resistant
- Many finish and color options
